Indonesia is a country which has the largest Muslim population with 210 million Muslims. Most of it inhabitants came in to contact with Islam through many spice merchants that visited island from the Arabian Peninsula. Being impressed by the good characters and manners of these Muslim merchants, most of the original Buddhist and Hindu population embraced Islam. This was around 13th century. Indonesia is therefore famous for being a land conquered by Islam without any bloodshed.

Since then it has always been a land tempting for the colonists. The Portuguese arrived, then the Spaniards followed by the Dutch in the 16th century, all setting up companies to exploit their resources such as spices and other agricultural commodities at the expense of the Muslims.
In modern times Muslims of Indonesia had to suffer under the hands of Governments who have done their outmost to move the general population away from Islam, whether by dictatorship or democracy. Opposing with this many regions has sought autonomy to implement Islam. However all of them faced the armed forces who were using heavy handed tactics to subdue these uprisings.

Instead of protect the Muslim population the Indonesian government is promoting its many islands as safe heavens and places of amusements for the natives of countries at way with Islam and Muslims, such as Israel and America. No wonder that the enemies of Islam had achieved part of their goal by breaking up East Timor with the mainland by the help of UN.
Crusaders militia had destroyed whole towns and villages while the Indonesian army and the two faced UN sit back and watch. Mosques, schools, hospitals and homes have been destroyed. The villagers whether man, women or children have no sanctity from these terrorists. “Hatred has already appeared from their mouths but what their hearts conceal is far worse” [Qur’an 3:118]

You may think that how can this be happening in a country with the highest Muslim population? Unfortunately this is what happens when we Muslims move away from the religion of Islam. We have to adhere to Qur’an and the ways of the prophet (sunnah) or our Maldives might also face the same fate. The enemy of Islam will always try to conceal their savage crimes and double standard but sooner or later the truth will always emerge.
